Wild Police Chase Ends In Head-On Crash In Arizona

A wild police chase in Tempe, Arizona, ended in a brutal head-on collision on Jan. 24.

A suspect identified as Mitchell Timothy Taebel was filmed speeding in a red SUV, notes KPHO.

After the SUV failed to pull over for state troopers, the authorities began a pursuit.

Troopers used down stop sticks on the highway, but the SUV managed to avoid them.

The SUV dangerously weaved in and out of traffic, and sideswiped a white SUV.

The SUV then had a head-on collision with a black SUV, and spun out in billowing smoke.

The suspect climbed out of the SUV and took off running, but witnesses alerted the police who took him down.

Taebel suffered minor injuries and was treated and released into custody.

The driver of the black SUV was injured, and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Taebel reportedly has an extensive criminal history including violent felonies and misdemeanors stretching across several states.
