A mob of angry white people defended two white police officers who allegedly took part in storming the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6.
The white people screamed at some peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters outside the Rocky Mount Town Council in Virginia on Jan. 11.
Officers Thomas Robertson and Jacob Fracker admit to being in a plain-clothes photo at the Capitol on Jan. 6, but claimed the Capitol police allowed them to enter even though the building was closed to the public while Congress was in session to certify votes for the 2020 presidential election.
Activist Bridgette Craighead told WSLS that she shared the photo of Robertson and Fracker on Facebook:
I understand exercising your right, but to be a part of a violent, deadly, riot. I don’t want an officer like that serving in my community.
Olivia Clements, who said she’s known Fracker since high school, was in tears:
The fact that they were even able to get in the Capitol is beyond me. It’s not right. It’s not fair. The fact that there’s two different standards.
Robertson and Fracker are on administrative leave during local and federal investigations.
