A white police officer was filmed repeatedly punching a 17-year-old black male who was being held by a white mall security officer in the parking lot of a mall in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, on April 11.
The officer and the security guard knocked the black teen onto the pavement where the officer hit the teen again in the back and in the face, reports WISN.
Witness Tyrone Jackson told the news station that he started filming because of the way the cop approached the teen.
Wauwatosa Capt. Brian E. Zalewski claimed in a press release that police were called because five males were allegedly causing a disturbance, notes the Journal Sentinel.
Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber added: “I can assure you that we take all situations seriously when they involve a use of force by our officers. We thoroughly review all incidents in which force is used by an officer and will do so in this incident, as well.”
The teen was charged with disorderly conduct, battery and resisting an officer.
