White North Carolina Cop Uses Chokehold, Body Slams Black Man For Arguing With Waffle House Workers

A white police officer was filmed using a chokehold on a black man, Anthony Wall, and body slamming him to the pavement outside a Waffle House in Warsaw, North Carolina, on May 5.

Wall got into an argument with some Waffle House servers, who called the police, notes WTVD-TV.

Wall recalled the incident to the TV station:

I was pretty much trying to scream for air and trying to breathe because he was holding my throat, and that’s when I got aggressive with him because you are choking me.

Wall, dressed in a tuxedo, had just taken his 16-year-old sister to her school’s prom.

An unidentified bystander filmed the incident, which Wall posted on Facebook.

Wall was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, but he said he only fought back out of instinct to preserve his life.
