White Idaho Cop — Who Mocked LeBron James — Defends White Officer Who Killed Unarmed Black Man Daunte Wright
Nate Silvester— an officer with the Marshal’s Office in Bellevue, Idaho who recently mocked NBA player LeBron James in a viral video — also defended Kim Potter, the former police officer who is charged with second-degree manslaughter over the shooting death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, reports Newsweek.
Silvester was upset after a commenter made fun of Potter on one his TikTok videos, in which he orchestrated a prank on his coworkers involving a taser: “At least he knows the difference between a glock and a taser.”
Silvester said he could “only imagine the amount of good” Potter has done in her 26 years on the force. Silvester went on to fantasize about Potter’s record despite knowing nothing about her record:
Endless crimes that have been prevented, probably saved a few lives even. But none of that stuff matters now. It’s all being disregarded because of this one mistake, and her life has changed forever.
Silvester also tried to blame unarmed shooting victims killed by police on the victims themselves by claiming the the police have no control of the situation:
You see, the suspect chooses how the encounter goes. Either he can choose to cooperate or he can choose to fight. And if he chooses the fight, what do you think the likely outcome is?
Silvester ignored the nearly 1,000 people who are killed by police in the U.S. every year by claiming excessive force “happens very rarely, contrary to what CNN would have you believe.”
