White Evangelical Christians Support Roy Moore By 78 Percent After Sexual Misconduct Allegations
A new Washington Post-Schar School poll shows Republican U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore with overwhelming support from white evangelical Christians in Alabama following six sexual misconduct allegations.
The poll found Moore has 78 percent of white evangelical Christians supporting him, while his opponent Democratic candidate Doug Jones has 12 percent of their support.
Moore also leads Jones among whites by 63 percent to 33 percent.
However, in the general poll, Jones leads Moore 50 percent to 47 percent.
President Donald Trump, who was accused of sexual misconduct in the 2016 election, beat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Alabama by 28 points.
