Volunteers Kicked Out Of National Park For Cleaning It During Government Shutdown

The Libertarian Party of Tennessee Delta Region attempted a volunteer effort to clean Shiloh National Military Park on Jan. 13, but were told they could not do so because the facilities of the park were closed because of the U.S. government shutdown.

A U.S. park ranger explained the situation to them several times, but the Libertarians continued to argue.

One of the volunteers, Victoria Paige Lee, filmed the incident and complained on Facebook: “It is a shame in the ‘Volunteer State’ we are stopped from volunteering.”
