U.S. Intelligence Officials Warn Russia is Interfering in 2020 Campaigns to Get Trump Re-Elected
Intelligence officials told the House Intelligence Committee on Feb. 13 that Russia is interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Donald Trump re-elected, according to five sources who told the New York Times.
On Feb. 14, Trump reportedly berated Joseph Maguire, the outgoing acting director of national intelligence, for allowing the intelligence briefing to take place, especially because Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was present.
Republicans challenged intelligence officials by claiming that Trump has been tough on Russia and strengthened European security, neither of which would prevent Russia from interfering in 2020 U.S.
Trump announced on Feb. 19 that he was replacing Maguire with Richard Grenell, the ambassador to Germany and a longtime Trump supporter.
