TSA Upset That Los Angeles Allows Travelers To Pack Marijuana
The TSA is upset because Los Angeles authorities allow travelers to legally pack marijuana for their flights.
Los Angeles International Airport police have posted a notice that says 28.5 grams may now be brought, but also warns people that the TSA may go after them based on federal laws, notes the Associated Press.
TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers said that TSA agents will spend taxpayer money to call the airport police, who will not arrest people.
Dankers defended this painful logic by invoking “terrorism” in an email to the Associated Press:
TSA’s focus is on terrorism and security threats to the aircraft and its passengers. Whether or not the passenger is allowed to travel with marijuana is up to law enforcement’s discretion.
Airport Officer Alicia Hernandez said people can carry 28.5 grams of marijuana “because there is no crime.”
