Trump’s ‘Pro-Life’ Health and Human Services Dept Attacks CDC For Warning Pregnant Women About COVID-19 Dangers
Paul Alexander, a senior adviser to a top Health and Human Services Department official, accused the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of “undermining the President” by publishing an accurate report about the potential risks of COVID-19 for pregnant women, notes the Washington Post.
Alexander claimed the CDC’s warning to pregnant women “reads in a way to frighten women . . . as if the President and his administration can’t fix this and it is getting worse.”
As coronavirus cases and deaths soar, the Trump administration is reportedly pressuring the CDC to downplay COVID-19 dangers in order to revive the economy ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election.
