President Donald Trump accused a black reporter, Yamiche Alcindor, of asking him a “racist question” during a White House press conference.
Alcindor, who works for PBS, asked Trump if he was concerned about “emboldening white nationalists,” which he often does:
There are some people that say that now the Republican Party is seen as supporting white nationalists because of your rhetoric.
Trump dodged the question and, instead, bragged about his poll numbers with black people, which are extremely low:
Why do I have the highest poll numbers ever with African-Americans? My highest poll numbers, that’s such a racist question, honestly. I know you have it written down and you’re going to tell me, that’s a racist question.
