Trump voters are uploading pictures and videos on social media (BELOW) of their flags in support of convicted felon Michael Flynn with the hashtag #FlagsOutForFlynn.
Trump’s former national security advisor pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak before Trump’s inauguration.
Trump said he fired Flynn in mid-February of 2017 because Flynn did not tell “the facts” about his conversations with Kislyak to Vice President Mike Pence.
However, Flynn replaced his legal team in 2019, and is now trying to withdraw his guilty plea by claiming he is the victim of misconduct by prosecutors, notes CNBC.
Newly-released FBI internal notes are being touted by Trump and other right wingers as somehow clearing Flynn, reports in USA TODAY. The notes say in part: “What’s our goal? Truth/Admission or get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired? We regularly show evidence, with the goal of getting them to admit their wrongdoing”
