President Donald Trump tripled down on his support for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore who is accused of sexual misconduct with six women while they were teens. One of the women was 14, which would make that allegation child molestation.
Trump told White House reporters during a GOP luncheon:
We don’t want to have a liberal Democrat in Alabama. Believe me. We want strong borders and stopping crime. We want to have the things that we represent and we don’t want a Liberal Democrat that is controlled by Nancy Pelosi and controlled by Chuck Schumer. We don’t want to have that for Alabama.
Moore has denied the allegations and knowing any of the women, despite one of the accusers, Debbie Wesson Gibson, unearthing a handwritten graduation card from Moore.
