Trump Tries To Suppress Voting With Threat Of ‘Maximum Criminal Penalties’

President Donald Trump is trying to suppress voting by threatening “maximum criminal penalties” for near nonexistent voter fraud, a tactic that Republicans have been using since the presidential election of Barack Obama in 2008 (video below):

Trump falsely claimed that “millions of people” voted illegally in the 2016 election and created a voter fraud commission, which was shut down in January, noted Mother Jones.

Republicans have used widespread voter suppression and gerrymandering to rig the vote since Obama’s election in 2008, notes a new documentary by American Issues Initiative.
