Supporters of President Donald Trump are filming the outsides of hospitals in a bizarre attempt to debunk the seriousness of coronavirus pandemic, which is taking place mostly inside hospitals (MORE VIDEO BELOW).
Right Wing Watch, which flagged the conspiracy theory that is being tagged #FilmYourHospital, notes how hospitals are discouraging visitors unless they have tested positive for the coronavirus or are exhibiting all the symptoms:
Many hospitals have restricted visitors in an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19; it’s likely a major contributor to the images of empty parking lots and roadways outside hospitals. The “war zones” that have been described in media are inside hospitals, where federal laws restrict filming patients without their consent.
The weird effort was apparently started by former Fox News radio host Todd Starnes — fired by Fox News Radio in 2019 — who tweeted a video on March 28 of himself wandering around outside of the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City.
However, the hospital that is being pounded by the coronavirus is Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, which is testing people outside in tents.
On March 29, failed California congressional candidate DeAnna Lorraine tweeted a similar video outside what she claimed were two hospitals in Los Angeles (where Los Angeles Public Health is urging people not to go to hospitals unless they have tested positive for the deadly virus).
Just went to 2 hospitals in LA to check out these “War Zones” the MSM keeps telling us about.🏥— DeAnna Lorraine🇺🇸 (@DeAnna4Congress) March 29, 2020
They are very quiet & EMPTY.
We are not being told the truth. Why?? Let’s get #FilmYourHospital trending. We ARE the news now. We can’t trust the news. Post pics of ur hospital here! pic.twitter.com/5AJ5L588lQ
Scott Presler, a pro-Trump activist, filmed himself driving through a hospital campus in Fairfax County, Virginia, which he falsely claimed is “one of the largest population hubs in America.”
I visited my hospital in Fairfax County,— #ThePersistence (@ScottPresler) March 29, 2020
one of the largest population hubs in America.
I didn’t see a lot of cars, a lot of people, or hardly any activity.
Wanted to see with my own eyes. pic.twitter.com/bv4E2IxlOf
