Trump Says US Troops Will Shoot People In Caravan, Will Violate US Law By Denying Asylum Claims

President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that U.S. troops will shoot immigrants who are traveling with the caravan if they throw rocks:

I will tell you this, anybody throwing stones, rocks… we will consider that a firearm Because there’s not much difference when you get hit in the face with a rock.

During a policy speech earlier in the day, Trump promised to hold undocumented immigrants in detention and block asylum seekers on U.S. soil from claiming asylum, which would violate U.S. law, notes NBC News.

Scott Anderson, of The Brookings Institution, said Trump would be in violation of international asylum law as well.
