Trump Says Steve Bannon Called Him ‘Great Man Last Night’ And ‘Changed His Tune Pretty Quick’

President Donald Trump was asked if he felt betrayed by former White House senior advisor Steve Bannon who reportedly made derogatory remarks about Trump and his family in Michael Wolff’s new book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”

Trump replied:

He called me a great man last night so, you know, he obviously changed his tune pretty quick. I don’t talk to him.

In Wolff’s book, Bannon was quoted as saying the Trump campaign’s 2016 meeting with the Russians was “treasonous” and “unpatriotic,” notes AlterNet:

The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor—with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers…

Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit—and I happen to think it’s all of that—you should have called the FBI immediately…

The chance that Don Jr. did not walk these jumos [Russians] up to his father’s office on the 26th floor is zero…

Eliana Johnson of POLITICO tweeted another tidbit about the Trump-Bannon relationship back when the two were friendly:
