Trump Said It Was ‘Low Class’ for Pence to Bring His Pets to VP Residence: Report

An adviser to President Donald Trump told The Atlantic that Trump told his secretary that it was “low class” for Vice President Mike Pence and his wife to bring their pets to the Naval Observatory, which is the residence for the vice president and his family:

He was embarrassed by it, he thought it was so low class. He thinks the Pences are yokels.

At the time of Trump’s nasty remark, the Pences had two cats, a rabbit and a snake. After one of the cats died in June, and the Pences adopted a new puppy and a kitten, reported The Hill.

The New York Post noted in 2017 that Trump is the first president in 150 years to not have a pet in the White House.
