Trump Desperately Defends Russia, Contradicts US Intelligence
President Donald Trump desperately defended the Russia on the same morning that the White House announced he would be meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 16:
Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election! Where is the DNC Server, and why didn’t Shady James Comey and the now disgraced FBI agents take and closely examine it? Why isn’t Hillary/Russia being looked at? So many questions, so much corruption!

However, the FBI, CIA, and NSA contradicted Trump in a joint report in January 2017, noted Vox:
We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election.
Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency.
We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo — who has confirmed Russian interference in U.S. elections — told the Senate on June 27 that Trump would warn Putin that an attempt to interfere in this year’s midterm elections is “completely unacceptable.” even though Trump does not believe Russia previously interfered, reports POLITICO.
