Trump Attacks LaVar Ball, Wishes He Had Left Americans In Chinese Jail
President Donald Trump attacked LaVar Ball over Ball’s comments about Trump’s role in the release of three UCLA players, including his son, who were arrested in China.
UCLA freshmen LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were detained in China for allegedly shoplifting. After they were released, Trump took the credit.
LaVar was asked on ESPN about Trump’s involvement in their release, and said: “Who? What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”
Trump fired back on Twitter:
Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!
