President Donald Trump and several Republicans are fuming over comedienne Michelle Wolf’s jokes during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 28 in Washington D.C.
Wolf was a big hit as she skewered Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who sat stone-faced during Wolf’s routine.
However, Trump falsely claimed on Twitter that Wolf bombed at the annual dinner, which he dodged for the second year in a row:
While Washington, Michigan, was a big success, Washington, D.C., just didn’t work. Everyone is talking about the fact that the White House Correspondents Dinner was a very big, boring bust…the so-called comedian really “bombed.” @greggutfeld should host next year! @PeteHegseth

While Trump whined about Wolf on Twitter, Republican strategist Liz Mair ranted on MSNBC on April 29:
It’s not just the smokey eye comment, she also made an allusion to a fictional character in a book who is a lesbian softball coach.
In order for comedy to be funny… there has to be dose of truth, or a kernel that sort of rings true in what’s said… very clearly that is a comment about Sarah Huckabee Sanders looks and it’s not a compliment…
As Republican woman, we’re constantly dealing with people who say we’re all about the cute appearance and the pretty makeup, and none of the substance and we’re just fact-free and we’re all stupid and we’re dumb bimbos.
Ironically, the president’s son Eric Trump like a tweet by PoliticsUSA publisher Sarah Reese Jones who said Wolf destroyed Sanders, notes the Daily Mail:
