Texas Mom Dying From COVID-19 Gasps: ‘Put Your Masks On, Don’t Go Out if You Don’t Have To’

Sara Montoya posted a Facebook video warning people to wear masks while she lay dying from COVID-19 in a hospital in El Paso, Texas, on July 5:

Put your masks on. Don’t go out if you don’t have to. Never in my life did I ever think that I would be fighting for my breath, something that we take for granted every day when we wake up. Please do not put your families at risk. I did the best that I thought I could. It is not worth it. Put your masks on. Don’t go out if you don’t have to.

Montoya said she had a “simple sinus infection,” but was sent home from a hospital when she tried to tested for COVID-19. Montoya was finally admitted to the hospital on July 1, and found out she had COVID-19, reports PEOPLE.

Montoya had no preexisting conditions, but developed methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in her lungs, and died on Aug. 13.

Montoya’s daughter Jasmin Chavez told the TODAY show that she was originally embarrassed by her mother’s prophetic video and wanted her to take it down, but was later glad her mom did not listen to her.
