Pastor Greg Locke of the Global Vision Bible Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, posted a video on Facebook on March 17 to announce that the church will stay open despite the cortonavirus warnings from medical experts who have advised temporary social distancing:
We are going to remain open… we are not going to give in to the chaos. We are not gonna fold to the fear. The Lord has not given us the spirit of fear. What other churches do, that’s on them. And so we are going to make a decision at Global Vision to remain open.
The Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Clarksville, Tennessee announced on March 13 that it was going to hold Sunday church services on March 15 and was refusing to participate in the supposed “hysteria” of the coronavirus crisis.
The Friendly Atheist shared its take on the absurd church sign:
I guarantee you that not a single person in this church could tell you how the virus spreads, what a vector is, or why people are taking pains to self-quarantine. This is not a sign of bravery. It’s an admission of ignorance. And it will hurt people, including those who attend services.
