Three teen girls are accused of intentionally exposing a female classmate to pineapple juice, knowing she has a serious allergy to it, at Butler Intermediate High School in Pennsylvania.
Police said one the teen girls soaked her hand in pineapple juice and walked around the lunch room high-fiving other kids, including the 14-year-old victim, notes WPXI.
Lt. Matt Pearson of the Butler Township Police said:
This was an intentional act. They sat at the lunch table right next to her and talked about doing it. Some had reservations, but they went through with it.
According to police, it was well known at the school that the victim has a pineapple allergy and pineapple is not allowed on the lunch room menu, which means the pineapple juice was brought in a bagged lunch.
Fortunately, another student overheard the plot, and got the victim to the nurse for an Epipen. The victim was rushed to a local hospital.
The 14-year-old girl accused of exposing the girl to the pineapple was charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct.
The other two girls — 14 and 13 — were charged with criminal conspiracy, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
