Steve Bannon: Koch Brothers Would ‘Own’ President Mike Pence
Former Trump White House senior advisor Steve Bannon warned that billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch would “own” Vice President Mike Pence if he became president.
Bannon told The New Yorker: “I’m concerned he’d be a President that the Kochs would own.”
Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island added: “If Pence were to become President for any reason, the government would be run by the Koch brothers—period. He’s been their tool for years.”
Marc Short, the head of legislative affairs in the Trump White House, recalled: “The Kochs were very excited about the Vice-Presidential pick. There are areas where they differ from the Administration, but now there are many areas they’re partnering with us on.”
In more Bannon news, he was cheered by Christian conservatives at the Values Voter Summit on Oct. 13 when he said that Trump was ending insurance subsidies for poor people to “blow those exchanges up.”
