Sen. Susan Collins Claims She Didn’t Disrespect Sex Abuse Survivors By Voting For Alleged Sexual Assaulter Brett Kavanaugh

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine told CNN’s Dana Bash that she did not disrespect sexual assault survivors by voting for the confirmation of alleged sexual assaulter Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Collins then tried to shift the blame to Planned Parenthood:

First of all, I have never disregarded, disrespected or mocked survivors. That is just plain untrue. And I would note that Planned Parenthood opposed three pro-choice justices just because they were nominated by Republican presidents. David Souter, Sandra Day O’Connor and Justice [Anthony] Kennedy. They said the same thing: women will die, and this is just outrageous.
