Sean Hannity Denies Trump Wanted To Fire Mueller, Then Confirms It On Same Show

Fox News host Sean Hannity dismissed a report by The New York Times that said President Donald Trump wanted to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller in July 2017, but was talked out of doing it by White House lawyer Don McGahn who threatened to quit.

Hannity claimed that The New York Times was only trying to “distract” people, said there were no sources to back up the story and disparaged the newspaper.

Moments later, Hannity said that Fox News reporter Ed Henry had spoken to sources who confirmed the story may be true.

Hannity did not acknowledge his own failed reporting, but instead quickly cut to a story about a head-on collision in Arizona.
