White House press secretary Sarah Sanders lashed out after being called on her lies by the Mueller report on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos correctly noted that Sanders lied when she claimed most of the FBI opposes James Comey and wanted him out on May 2017:
That’s not a slip of the tongue, Sarah, that’s a deliberate false statement.
Sanders doubled-down on her lie about the FBI:
Actually, if you look at what I said, I said the slip of the tongue was in using the word “countless.” There were a number of FBI [agents], former and current, that agreed with the president’s decision.
Stephanopoulos noted that in the Mueller report Sanders admitted her comments about Comey “were not founded on anything.”
After being caught in her lie again, Sanders played the victim card:
It was in the heat of the moment, meaning that it wasn’t a scripted talking point. I’m sorry that I wasn’t a robot like the Democrat Party.
