White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who no longer does her daily job of briefings, dismissed climate change science because of a “higher authority” on Jan. 22.
Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Sanders about Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York who recently cited a United Nations warning about climate change from October 2018, noted The Hill.
Cortez said her generation knows the “world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” in regard to the point of no return, according to scientists.
Sanders proudly shrugged off science in favor of a “higher authority”:
Look, I don’t think we’re going to listen to her on much of anything, particularly not on matters we’re gonna leave in the hands of a much, much higher authority, and certainly not listen to the freshman congresswoman on when the world may end. We’re focused on what’s happening in the world right now.
