Runner Crawls To Finish Line After Fracturing Leg In Marathon

A 19-year-old college student crawled to the finish line after fracturing her right leg during the Princess Ekiden relay race in Fukuoka, Japan on Oct. 21.

Rei Iida crawled 700 feet on her hands and knees after falling during her 2.2-mile section of the race, notes RT.com.

Marathon organizers were criticized for not stopping the runner, although she had reportedly asked “how many meters are left until my goal?” when she was approached by a race judge.
