Rep. Matt Gaetz Claims Alleged Sex Abuse Victims Are Part Of ‘Deep State’ Conspiracy To Get Rep. Jim Jordan

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida claimed on July 11 that eight alleged sexual abuse victims are part of  some “deep state” conspiracy against Republican Rep. Jim Jordan Ohio.

The eight alleged victims claim that Jordan knowingly ignored sexual abuse by a team doctor, Richard Strauss, while Jordan was an assistant Ohio State wrestling coach from 1987 to 1995.

Strauss, who died in 2005, has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 1,000 athletes from 15 varsity sports.

Gaetz made his “deep state” claim — without any proof — during an interview with Lou Dobbs on his Fox Business show:

I think there are people that have some loose affiliation with the deep state that are out to get Jim Jordan. This is the way they’re manifesting their hatred for a man that is doing everything to fight for the regular folks in this country…

If Jim Jordan was not after the Department of Justice and the FBI, he would not be dealing with these allegations. They are totally false, I am confident in that to my core.
