Puerto Rico Hurricane Victims Losing Their Homes To Foreclosures & Wealthy Investors

Close to 55,000 families in Puerto Rico are reportedly in foreclosure nine months after Hurricane Maria struck the island.

Democracy Now discussed this land-grab by wealthy investors  with Naomi Klein, author of the new book “The Battle for Paradise: Puerto Rico Takes on the Disaster Capitalists.”

Democracy Now also interviewed Katia Avilés-Vázquez, a Puerto Rican environmental activist and member of Organización Boricuá de Agricultura Ecológica, and Elizabeth Yeampierre, executive director of UPROSE and co-chair of the Climate Justice Alliance.
