Pro-Trump White Evangelical Radio Host Eric Metaxas Mispronounces Words While Pretending to Talk Like a Black Person
Pro-Trump white evangelical radio host and author Eric Metaxas pretended to talk like a black man by mispronouncing words on Twitter.
Metaxas was quickly slammed on Twitter.

Eric, this isn’t funny. This is the Twitter equivalent of Blackface.— Karen Swallow Prior (Notorious KSP) (@KSPrior) May 22, 2020
I'm guessing you forgot you tweeted this under your name instead of saying it from under a hood…— Leia HIGH RISK🇨🇴 (@TheSWPrincess) May 22, 2020
That tweet just reminded a lot of people exactly how horrific the GOP has become.
Wash your racist mouth out.— Malcolm Nance (@MalcolmNance) May 22, 2020
Oh look. A conservative Christian in the same vein as the conservative Christians who’d lynch black people on Saturday night and then show up to Sunday school the next morning.— Benjamin Dixon (@BenjaminPDixon) May 22, 2020
Metaxas was apparently trying to mock former Vice President Joe Biden who said earlier during an interview with black host Charlamagne Tha God: “If you’ve got a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or for Trump, then you ain’t black.”
Later in the day, Biden told the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce in a phone call that he would never “take the African American community for granted,” and walked back his comment, notes the Chicago Tribune:
I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy. No one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background.
