Pro-Roy Moore Pastors Call Alleged Sex Abuse Victims ‘Crocodile Tears’ And ‘Fake News’
Some pro-Roy Moore pastors are attacking the nine women who allege that the U.S. Senate Republican candidate perpetrated sexual misconduct — including attempted rape — on them.
Pastor Earl Wise (pictured above), from Millbrook, Alabama, told the Boston Globe:
I don’t know how much these women are getting paid, but I can only believe they’re getting a healthy sum.
Wise said he would support Moore even if Moore sexually molested teen girls and women:
There ought to be a statute of limitations on this stuff. How these gals came up with this, I don’t know. They must have had some sweet dreams somewhere down the line.
Plus, there are some 14-year-olds, who, the way they look, could pass for 20.
Pastor Franklin Raddish, of South Carolina, added:
[For 40 years] these women didn’t say a word. They were cool as a cucumber. You’re asking me to believe them, when their own mother didn’t have enough red blood in her to . . . go and report this? Come on.
On Nov. 18, a group of pastors condemned Moore at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Birmingham, notes the Alabama Media Group.
“It is an extraordinary and almost unprecedented thing for pastors to take a public stand against a candidate for public office,” said the Rev. Angie Wright, associate director of the Greater Birmingham Ministries. “But these are extraordinary times and requires all of us to take extraordinary measures.”
“It’s not the gospel of Christ but the gospel of greed,” said the Rev. William Barber II, president of Repairers of the Breach and co-chairman of “The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.”
In response, Moore campaign spokesman Brett Doster attacked the pastors:
The liberal fringe of the faith community declared Judge Moore guilty decades ago during the Ten Commandments fight and then again during the battle for traditional marriage.
Their continued opposition is no surprise. The larger faith community across Alabama and the nation has flocked to vouch for Judge Moore’s good name and will not allow a flaming liberal who supports partial-birth abortion to hijack the Senate seat over false allegations.
