Poll: 3 In 10 Parents Believe Flu Shot Is Conspiracy, Half Think You Can Get Flu From Vaccine
Three in ten Americans believe that flu shots are part of a conspiracy, according to a recent survey by the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
The survey also found that more than a half of American parents falsely believe their child can get the flu from the vaccine, while a third don’t believe vaccines work, reports Study Finds.
Dr. Jean Moorjani, a board-certified pediatrician at Orlando Health, noted that parents are getting false information from the Internet and from their dear friends and family:
With any medication or vaccine, people are going to have concerns. Because information can come from so many places, from friends and family to the internet, it’s important to talk to a doctor you trust to get credible information that is based in science and facts.
After years of research, we know that the flu vaccine is safe. The flu shot does not cause autism or any other diseases or illnesses. Doctors recommend the flu shot because it is the best way to protect you and your family from the flu.
