Police Tase and Handcuff Woman For Refusing to Wear Safety Mask at 8th Grade Football Game

A woman was Tased and handcuffed by police after refusing to wear a safety mask at an eighth-grade football game and refusing to leave the area in Logan, Ohio on Sept. 23, reports WBNS.

Logan Athletic Director Theresa Schultheiss said junior high school assistant principal Adam Twiss asked the mother to comply and put her mask, notes The Marietta Times:

This rule has been in effect since we were told we could play. Everyone that came through ticketing tonight was reminded, we had regular announcements over the PA reminding you that mouths and noses needed to be covered and we had signs at the bathrooms.

Skylar Steward, who identified the woman as his son’s mother Alecia Kitts, said, “The police officer attempted to detain her, she resisted … she wasn’t hurting anybody.”

However, the woman was endangering people’s health by not wearing a mask.
