Police Don’t Even Try to Stop Motorcyclist Going 178 MPH in Georgia

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety went to Facebook to ask Georgia residents to slow down after a police officer clocked a motorcyclist going 178 mph on a state highway, but didn’t try to stop the speeder, on Sept. 6.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that “(m)ost jurisdictions want anyone traveling 100 mph or faster to go straight to jail. But the GSP [Georgia State Patrol] said some jurisdictions have backed off arrests for fear of spreading the coronavirus in local jails.”
