Pentagon Contradicts Trump: Half Of Puerto Rico Has No Water, Getting Worse
The U.S. Defense Department announced on Sept. 30 that 55 percent of the population of Puerto Rico does not have access to drinking water, which contradicts President Donald Trump’s many claims that his administration is waging a “successful” aid effort.
The Pentagon said last week that 44 percent of Puerto Rico did not have access to drinking water, reports The Hill.
A Navy hospital ship is scheduled to land in Puerto Rico on Oct. 4, weeks after two hurricanes slammed the island.
Despite the grim facts, Trump continued to pretend on Twitter on Oct. 1 that the aid effort was going well:
