Pennsylvania Cop Repeatedly Slams Man’s Head Into Floor

A police officer was suspended after video surfaced of him smashing a man’s head into the floor inside a home in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on April 23.

Video of the incident was posted on Facebook on April 24 by Brandy Williams, and shows the cop pounding the man’s head into the floor until the man is unconscious.

New Castle police refused to identify the officer notes the New Castle News, but the police department said on Facebook that it “is aware of the circulation of a social media video depicting a New Castle Police Officer’s use of force during an arrest.”

The officer was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by his own police department.

The police report said the man, who was intoxicated, tried to run toward a knife lying on the kitchen counter, causing the first officer on scene to struggle with the man.

Police claim a second officer arrived on scene and used a Taser on the man three times without any success; that is what apparently led to the second officer pounding the man’s head into the floor.

The man was reportedly handcuffed and transported to UPMC Jameson Hospital for cuts to his head.

The man was released from the hospital and taken to the Lawrence County Jail where he was charged with simple assault, harassment and resisting arrest.
