The late Bill Dorris left $8 million dollars to his 8-year-old border collie named Lulu in Nashville, Tennessee.
Lulu continues to live in the millionaire’s house with her regular caretaker, 88-year-old Martha Burton.
Burton told WTVF how the 84-year-old Dorris — an unmarried, successful businessman — loved his dog:
Well, he always left the dog for me to take care of, Oh yes. He loved that dog. I don’t really know what to think about it to tell you the truth. He just really loved the dog.
Burton’s will says: “$5,000,000 will be transferred to a trust to be formed upon my death for the care of my border collie Lulu.”
The will also states that Burton will simply be reimbursed for reasonable monthly expenses.
