NYPD: Bandit On Bicycle Steals Cell Phones From People’s Hands

Police in New York City are trying to catch a suspect on a white bicycle who allegedly rides up and steals people’s cell phones.

Police say the robberies began on May 28 when the suspect grabbed a cell phone away from 33-year old woman in Manhattan, notes WCBS.

A 27-year-old woman and 25-year-old woman had their cell phones stolen the same way on May 29; two more people were victimized on May 30.

Police say a 48-year-old man had his cell phone snatched by the bicycling thief on June 2, and a 41-year-old man was robbed on June 4.

The suspect has stolen about $5,000 worth of phones. He is described by police as man in his late teens to early 20s who was last seen wearing a white tank top and red shorts.
