New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct when he celebrated a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns by pretending to wipe his butt with the football on Sept. 20.
Crowell, who used to play for the Browns, scored two second-quarter touchdowns. He did the butt motion after the second score, and his team got hit a 15-yard penalty.
Crowell recalled the incident after the game, notes RT.com:
I didn’t think about the touchdown celebration before the game. It was just spur of the moment, but I need to control myself.
Jets head coach Todd Bowles added:
We addressed it and it will never happen again.
