Police officers swarmed a small group of Black teens over bicycle “license tags” in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, but the teens said they live in Edison, and were just riding home.
The harassment continued at the police station where one cop was filmed telling a teen he was lucky to get his bike back. The cop asked if he had the purchase receipt for the bike, and if it is registered with them. The officer said the teens were told “to stay on the sidewalk,” but they were also told to stay on the road and ride with traffic.
