A new FX documentary “Framing Britney Spears,” produced by The New York Times, covers how the pop singer’s dad, Jamie Spears, has controlled his daughter’s career and finances for over a decade.
After Britney was admitted to psychiatric hospital for five days in 2008, her father was given conservatorship over her her everyday life, career, and money until 2009, but the conservatorship has continued to this day, reports Decider.
The controversial conservatorship battle helped spark the public #FreeBritney movement in recent years.
