An unidentified woman pulled a gun inside a Walmart in Novi, Michigan during fight over school supplies on Aug. 28, according to police.
Novi Police Det. Scott Baetens told WJBK:
It was in the back to school section over a notebook. One girl was going to buy a notebook. There was one left, some pushing resulted. They began to argue who was the rightful purchaser of that notebook.
Police and witnesses said that two women, ages 32 and 46, pulled a 20-year-old woman’s hair and pushed her out of the way while her 51-year-old mother fought with the other two; the 20-year-old mom then pulled a gun.
“She’s a valid CPL holder,” Baetens stated. “She pulled out her firearm and tells them to stop attacking her daughter while pointing the gun at them.”
The fight ended as customers ran away, and police were called.
“It was a senseless act of violence all the way around,” Baetens added. “A simple assault could be just a local ordinance, a 90-day misdemeanor. All the way up to felonious assault with a firearm, which is a felony.”
According to police, the gun was loaded, but no one was injured.
