UPDATE: Pruitt resigned on July 5.
Kristin Mink, with her 2-year-old son in tow, confronted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) head Scott Pruitt in a Washington D.C. restaurant where he was eating a few tables away from her.
Mink recalled the multiple scandals that Pruitt has been involved in, including renting a condo owned by the wife of a lobbyist at a way-below-market price.
Mink then urged the scandal-ridden Pruitt to resign:
We deserve to have somebody at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, someone who believes in climate change and takes it seriously for the benefit of all us, including our children. I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out.
The chief ethics officer of the EPA, Kevin S. Minoli, has been working behind the scenes to start independent investigations into Pruitt’s scandals, noted The New York Times.
