An employee of the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson was fired after using the N-word at a donut shop in Flowood on Aug. 11.
The hospital employee, Kyle Thomas, was filmed by a donut shop employee, Keaundrea Wardlaw, using the racial slur, notes WJTV.
Wardlaw said she didn’t want Thomas to get fired, but doesn’t feel Thomas should have used the N-word.
Wardlaw said Thomas came back and apologized to her boss for the public disruption, but did not apologize to her.
WJTV is trying to reach Thomas.
Meanwhile, a Mississippi Baptist Medical Center spokesperson issued a statement:
We are aware of the confrontation captured on video involving one of our off duty employees at a local donut shop. We take this situation very seriously. This employee’s language and behavior does not represent our organization’s values and his employment has been terminated.
