Michigan Republican State Sen. Tom Barrett — Fought Against COVID-19 Lockdowns — Infected With COVID-19
Republican state Sen. Tom Barrett of Michigan — who fought against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s lockdown in April as COVID-19 killed hundreds across the state — is infected with COVID-19.
Barrett found out his results from the Michigan Army National Guard, which screens all soldiers one week prior to their departure for training events, notes the Detroit Press.
Now that he is infected, Barrett said he would obey “medical guidelines”:
Thankfully I do not have any significant symptoms at this time, and I will be self-isolating according to medical guidelines. I have done my best to make contact with those I have been around in the past couple weeks so that they may also seek medical advice.
