Michael Avenatti: Trump Cannot Be Beat In 2020 With ‘Puppies And Daisies’

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who may run for president in 2020, outlined what it would take for a Democrat to beat President Donald Trump.

MSNBC host Alex Witt asked Avenatti if women will support Trump in 2020 as they did in 2016, and Avenatti said women “are starting to see Donald Trump for what he is, and that is a misogynist.”

Witt asked Avenatti if he was going to run in 2020, and Avenatti explained how defeating Trump is going to be “brutal”:

You are not going to beat Donald Trump through a message of puppies and daisies. It’s not gonna happen. You’re gonna have to take the fight to Donald Trump and it’s gonna have to be a brutal campaign if the Democrats hope to take back the White House.

Avenatti, who represents Stormy Daniels, added that people weighing 2020 runs would make “exceptional presidents,” but most of them have “no shot”:

It’s gonna take a fighter and it’s gonna be a very, very brutal campaign. And if the Democrats don’t come to that realization quickly, he’s gonna be re-elected in 2020.
