Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti told MSNBC that President Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen has multiple tapes of himself in conversation with Trump.
Avenatti said The New York Times report of the FBI seizing a tape of Cohen and Trump discussing hush money to pay off Trump’s alleged ex-mistress Karen McDougal proves his theory of the “Trump Tapes,” which he mentioned in May:
I know for a fact this is not the only tape. I think that this is a very serious matter, and I think that any and all audiotapes that Michael Cohen has in his possession relating to this president should be released immediately for the benefit of the American people so that they can decide what happens next.
Avenatti added that Cohen is “one of the world’s great evidence-hoarders”:
He rarely threw anything away. He maintained past cellphones, he maintained multiple audio recordings, he maintained documents, e-mails, and text messages. That is a very, very bad thing for the president.
